Richard Wheen of Braithwaite, was beneficiary of the will of James Bloom of Braithwaite, dated 10 October 1817. James mentions his sisters; Mary Maples, Rebecca Wheen and the late Elizabeth Wheen.

To my relative Richard Wheen of Braithwaite, yeoman and my friends George Nicholson of Badsworth (W.Yorkshire) and
George Mann of Marr Grange, yeoman, all my money, securities, personal estate etc. upon trust to convert the same into
money and to stand possessed of the same upon trust to pay all my debts, to pay £50 to my housekeeper Elizabeth
Gilberthorpe, to have £50 each for their trouble and to hold the residue in trust for all my nephews and neices,
children of my sisters, Mary Maples, Rebecca Wheen and the late Elizabeth Wheen, to be paid when they are 21 -
my trustees to hold my messuage, barn etc. at Braithwaite with closes called the Croft, Cow Close, Bate Ridden,
Hop Yard, Long Close, Brafit Close, 3 land at the Bottom, Wheat Croft, Warren Croft, Mill Field, Dowborn Field,
Bramwith Low Common and Bramwith Low Common (60 acres) to receive the income and profits and therefrom to pay £60p.a. to my sister Mary Marples for her life, the residue to be invested in Parliamentary stocks and funds and the interest thereon reinvested whenever it totals £100, and after Mary's death, to sell the property and to transfer the purchase price and the invested funds to my nephews and neices, children of Mary Marples, Rebecca Wheen and Elizabeth Wheen - closes at Braithwaite called Palmer Lane Close (7 acres 4 poles) Great Pighill and Plantations (9 acres 1 rood 8 poles) Wood Croft (13 acres 1 rood 7 poles) Middle Close (12 acres 11 poles) Mill Close (5 acres 31 poles) Mill Ing (6 acres 27 poles) Wran Carr Common Allotment (4 acres 26 poles) and Church Town Common Allotment (3 acres 24. 30 poles) to the children of my sister Mary Marples, as tenants in common - a messuage at Braithwaite with closes called North Field or Pigeon Cote Close (11 acres 3 roods 12 poles) Apple Garth (4 acres 35 poles) Kitchen Croft (3 acres 3 roods 23 poles) and Duchetts Close (6 acres 12 poles) to the children of my sisters
Rebecca and Elizabeth Wheen - my messuage near Wilsick House, p. Kirk Sandall, with closes (12 acres) to my trustees,
during the minority of Mary, daughter of George Mann, to upon trust to receive the rents etc. and to invest the same
in Parliamentary stocks or funds and to reinvest the interest and to convey the same to Mary when she is 21 -

A document dated 1846 - an Assignment by Richard Wheen of Thurcroft, farmer to Edmund Godfrey of the Levels and James Bloom Wheen of Sheffield, gents:
Reciting the will of Richard Wheen the father (16 November 1838) whereby he devised all his money, securities farming stock, goods, personal estate etc. to his cousin William Godfrey and brother-in-law John Moate, with all his real estate, upon trust to convert all the same into money, to set aside £1,750 and invest the same, the income to be paid to his wife Ann for her life and to stand possessed of the remainder of the money and of the £1,750 after the death of Ann upon trust to pay his children Elizabeth and Richard £200 each and to divide the residue between his children Elizabeth, Rebecca, Charles, James and Richard Wheen, Mary Beevers and Rebecca Garland, in stated proportions - and reciting that Edmund Godfrey and James Bloom Wheen had replaced William Godrey and John Moate as trustees of the said will - in consideration of £500 paid to Richard Wheen and secured by promissory note, of his legacy of £200 under his father's will, his interest in the sum of £1,750 on the decease of his mother and his interest in the residue of his father's estates, as security for the £500.
