Wheatcroft of Sawn Moor Farm
In 1881 John Sybary Wheatcroft aged 59, was living at Sawn Moor Farm House with his wife and children. He farmed 150 acres with the help of 2 employees.
His wife Eliza A. aged 46 born about 1835 in Wombwell, Barnsley. Their children were all born in Laughton:

Edwin married Annie from Gosport, Hants. In 1901 he was a mechanical engineer fitter, living at 41 Albany Street, Wellgate, Rotherham with Annie and children John age 6, and Fearnly age 4.
A Catherine Wheatcroft, born January 08, 1730/31 in Wirksworth, Dbys, daughter of Samuel Wheatcroft and Catherine Molanus, married Stephen Needham of Wickersley on October 28, 1751 at Wickersley
Martha sister of Catherine, born April 22, 1722 in Wirksworth, Dbys, ENG; married Luke Ashforth April 20, 1746 in Wirksworth, Derbys
