Drabwell of Conisbrough and Thurcroft

John Drabwell was a seed and corn merchant of Conisbrough. It is not clear when he came to Thurcroft, but it is recorded he was 'of Thurcroft Hall' in 1841. He died in December 1843 at Thurcroft Hall.

The IGI records show John Drabwell married Harriet Wilkinson on 13 JUL 1828 at Conisbrough. She was born about 1797 at Doncaster

Harriet Drabwell was at Thurcroft Hall in 1846, she was a widow. (Wife of John?)

John Drabwell had 3 daughters including Mary and Emily Jane.

The second Mary, married at Laughton-en-le-Morthen on June 22, 1850, to Chas. Pantin Slaytor of Conisbrough.

On 1st May, 1858, the death was announced of Emily Jane Drabwell, in her 20th year at The Beacon Exmouth, youngest daughter of the late John Drabwell of Thurcroft.

Harriet Drabwell of Thurcroft Hall, widow, to Richard Wheen of Sheffield, yeoman. To lease lands in Thurcroft. At a yearly rent of £370 for one year and then from year to year. Valuation and survey of the above leased lands. 4th March, 1846.

Harriet Drabwell of Bawtry, widow, to Charles Frederick Younge of Thurcroft Hall, esquire. The messuage called Thurcroft Hall with all its outbuilding and gardens etc., the close called The Park containing about 9 acres, and another small piece of ground, with all rights of hunting and preserving game etc. over the whole Thurcroft estate. For a term of 10 years and 3 months from 25th March, 1859 at a yearly rent of £100.

Harriet Drabwell of Bawtry, widow, to John Neep of Oldcoates, Notts, farmer. To let New Orchard Farm in Laughton of about 87 acres. For one year and then from year to year at a yearly rent of £110.
